Here's the breaking news for the day...According to a few different and not-necessarily-reliable sources, two people at the U.S. State Department have lost their jobs after inappropriately accessing Barack Obama's personal passport file a few months ago.
I'm no fan of the Drudge Report, but here's its headline:
DIRTY TRICKS FEAR AFTER STATE DEPT. FIRES TWO FOR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO BARACK OBAMA'S PERSONAL PASSPORT FILE... MORE... WASHINGTON TIMES SET TO SPLASH THE DEVELOPMENT, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE REPORT... MORE...
Leave it to a dirty trickster to screw things up for those who'd prefer to see Obama continue to suffer for the words of his pastor. These guys at State may have just discovered the best way to stop all of the race-chat.

You'll probably know more than I know right now by the time I post this.
UPDATE: The feds are calling it an episode of "imprudent curiosity" lacking political motivation. Those involved were contract employees at the Bureau of Counsular Affairs. They've been described as "low level" employees.
Unless something weird happens, I'm betting against dirty tricks. I'm guessing that a couple of goofs just couldn't resist taking a peek. Makes you wonder a little bit about security and privacy, but not that much about political scheming.
